The Retreat was excllent for a family of 5 adults and an 8 week old

The property is well designed to exploit the site by the river. Every bedroom, the kitchen, the dining room and the lounge look out onto the river. Fabulous sights at dawn and dusk. The accommodation is very comfortable and well equiped wih items, only draw back as no dishwasher!! Us boys relearned how to wash up!! Location is approx 20 mins into Hobart depending on the time of day, shopping is a short drive/long walk away.

The freight train is only a couple of times a day and doesn't wake up small people! The drivers are very friendly! Walking tracks along the shore are great as are some of the local parks. Some minor items needed fixing but the owner took that on without a problem.

We did tourist things-Mt Wellington, Salamanca Markets etc all good entertainment
